At 10:00am, on 1st Wednesday’s of the month, all women are warmly welcome to join for discussion over an Upper Room devotion, prayer, and fellowship.
Women of the Palisades community and their friends meet the first Wednesday of each month for spiritual conversation, prayer, and positive interaction as they forge rich and enduring friendships. Book-ended in prayer, the women discuss the study in a current issue of The Upper Room devotions, leaving time to pray together for the participants and their family and friends.
Following their study, the ladies have a bag lunch
that is blessed with a generous amount of laughter and fosters fellowship in faith as they get to know one another on a deeper level. Gathered in the courtyard, the ladies meet during the year, September through June. Staying connected during the summer break, a potluck lunch is hosted and the women are encouraged to invite guests.
There is a no-host pre-holiday restaurant luncheon at the start of Advent as the group’s last activity of the year. Committed to taking learning to action, they take a free-will offering. In 2019 the benevolence fund of $1,055 enabled the group to honor four San Diego community charitable organizations with equal gifts forwarded to Presbyterian Urban Ministries, Military Outreach Ministry, Urban Youth Collaborative, and Leap to Confidence, a transformational leadership program designed to build the self-esteem of professionally referred women affected by domestic violence, poverty or substance abuse.
