Community Outreach

occ2016Community, national and international outreach are key elements in Palisades ministry. We hope to create a community outside the confines of the church building to spread the word of God and share His love. Our members receive so much more than they give. We hope you will feel led to join us in our efforts.

Local Outreach

San Diego Military Outreach Ministy (M.O.M.)
The purpose of Military Outreach Ministry is to share God’s love with military personnel and their families by helping to meet some of their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The Outreach Commission makes weekly trips to M.O.M. to drop-off donated household items, small appliances, diapers, toys and other requested items.

Presbyterian Urban Ministries
Operated and managed by the Presbytery of San Diego, the Presbyterian Urban Ministries (formerly know as the Crisis Center) helps those in need by addressing the social, psychological and spiritual needs of those who may be without the skills or resources to meet them independently.

St. Vincent de Paul Village Soup Kitchen
The Outreach Commission organizes teams periodically to serve meals to those receiving services from St. Vincent de Paul.

San Diego Rescue Mission
The Outreach Commission makes weekly drop-offs of donated clothing, toys, blankets and towels to the San Diego Rescue Mission’s  Emergency Shelter for Women and Children. Donations can be brought to the Church Office or the Outreach Room on Sunday mornings (the room closest to the tennis court).

International Outreach

Friends of Los Niños
The Friends of Los Niños  is a Christian-based, non-profit, tax exempt organization, incorporated under the State of California. Our purpose and charter are the care and nurture of orphaned, abandoned, abused and sick children in Mexico. Our support includes shelter, food, education, medical and dental. We also engage in physical, psychological and spiritual development. We currently help children in three orphanages and a home for sick children. We also help the Albergue Temporal, a receiving center for such children. Our help is normally granted on an annual, or as-needed basis.

Palisades serves as the corporate office for the Friends of Los Niños, and has been a faithful contributor for many years. If you would like information on more specific ways that you can directly help a needy child or children, please contact Claude Wilson or Lori Leiser.
